Lebanon Digital Picture Gallery "Lebanon was a paradise,” someone said. You might have heard of Lebanon from TV, reporting about the withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from south Lebanon. Have you ever wondered where is the location of Lebanon? Lebanon is located in the Middle East, surrounded by Syria, Israel, and Jordan. The capital of Lebanon is Beirut. It had gone through so many wars, which led to the deaths of thousands of people, wrecked the country's economy and so on. "If we hadn't gone through the civil war and invasion of Israeli armies in 1970s and 1980s, Lebanon would have been a very popular and rich country," said a taxi driver whom I met in Lebanon in two years ago. The civil war and invasion had turned a paradise into a hell. Before the wars, thousands of tourists from across Arabian Gulf and Europe used to pour into that small country. During the war and invasion, tourism in Lebanon had lessened to almost nothing. However, after the wars had ended, Lebanon has managed to attract its share of tourists, especially from the Gulf Countries. With the help of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and other Middle East countries, Lebanon has repaired its airport, streets, and some of its buildings. What made people call Lebanon "a paradise"? Lebanon has managed to keeps its eastern culture with the touch of the western economic development. I've been to Lebanon three times. It keeps developing more with every visit. Lebanon has so many areas that a tourist would love to visit. It has the Pigeon Rock at Raocheh, which is also known as the Death Rock. There are some nice restaurants, which let you watch the Rock. Another beautiful area, which I am lucky to have visited, is Baalbeck. This place is fabulous to go to. It has the remains of the Romans. The six columns of Jupiter Temple is a beautiful thing to see. I'm amazed at how it has managed to survive all that time. Lebanon is a very nice country to visit. It has wonderful green mountains. I didn't like Beirut as much because it's very hot and polluted during August. If you ever want to visit Lebanon, make sure to book a room in a hotel in the mountains. I can talk more about Lebanon but I'm afraid that I wouldn’t stop. I hope you have learned some new information about Lebanon. You can view more pictures, below, and in the next page.
